Thanks as always for your hard work, Jasper. I know it’s a lot, but even for those of us who keep up daily, I think the weekly recaps are important and I honestly don’t have any suggestions from a reader’s perspective about any cuts in length. The organization by issue is really helpful too. I also appreciate you sharing the link to the New Yorker article, bc I think that helped fill in the gap in understanding about the reasons for us support of the ongoing genocide. I didn’t know about those military visits to Rafah last year, though sadly it doesn’t surprise me.
Incredibly helpful and thorough-I can only offer the opposite feedback - what to please keep: coverage on the West Bank since it's often left out, and the dry humor, wherever you can find it, ex: "Shark News."
I deeply appreciate your work, Jasper. It is helpful to have a coherent, concise presentation of this information. Most of it isn’t new news to me, but the way I’m getting updates from Palestine all week on socials is so frenetic and disorganized and panic-inducing. I think it’s very generous of you to do this work.
Thanks again for this. It is a lot, but there's so much happening that it's hard to know what to cut out. The But this wasn't an overwhelming read & it's all pertinent information. The headlines & subheadlines are super clear and make it easy to digest info without getting lost in it.
The violence is truly staggering & incomprehensible. I had to stop & pause every few paragraphs. What stands out is how Israel ferociously denies their heinous crimes & then quiet admittance months later when attention has moved on, and then rinse and repeat. I know settler violence & settlement expansion has ramped up since 10/7, but also wondering if it's the worst it's ever been, & if Israel is using this now or never opportunity to eventually annex all of the west bank?
The truth was always there. But now we're seeing it more clearly than ever.
If the Roundup feels too long, maybe an idea can be to group the USA, Europe & Israel into one group - western powers or something like that?
Just one week, and so much horrific, tentacular insanity...
The thing is, this is a coherent picture. All of it, all of the elements you gathered piece together the monster and show the scale of its rampage (much like the folks at Forensic Architecture unveil its footprints in the landscape).
I don't know that you can ignore any of it. But, maybe, it doesn't have to be this sustained. Maybe make it a 10-day cycle - 5 days of staring into the abyss, 5 days of recovery - just for your own sanity?
I definitely like the headlines and subheadlines format. It separates and puts things together at the same time. But since it's totally understandable that this may not be healthy for you in a long term,
From my personal interest on your report, I'd make shorter the parts related to America, since you share the links to these news anyway and the access to this information I find it more accessible. I'd focus more in the West Bank, Gaza and Israeli society (the same way you're already doing). The international insights are great too as brief as they are. And naming some segments like "The Ocean" or "News nobody asked for" in a satirical way help to cope.
Yes Diana! This is the bit that absolutely baffles me, surely given what happened way back then Israel of all countries knows what human rights abuse is and should be a shining beacon of light, tolerance and living alongside 'the other' peacefully; not the vicious, vengeful hating power it has become. Looking to all Israelis with true justice in their hearts to stand up to these monsters...
This is really incredible work, Jasper. Thank you for doing this. I trust your instincts for what to trim going forward, if anything, but I for one am grateful for your thoroughness and have bookmarked this to refer back to.

Don't cut anything. We need to see and know it all.

Couldn’t agree more about the pattern you identified. It’s maddening.
Just one week, and so much horrific, tentacular insanity...

Again, many thanks for your work.
Israel being given this kind of leeway and cover makes me sick. 'Never again' meant for everyone.
Another plethora of insanity. Thank you, Jasper.
It’s NEVER too long. Keep giving all the details all the news and views please.
Thank you, Jasper. You are very thorough. What did shock me, was again the surfacing of rape allegations in Israeli media

Thank you for your compilation and coverage!
It's hard to "heart" this but thanks for the information.

Really hoping Shark News becomes a regular feature.
Thanks for this Jasper.
